ChargEV Revolutionizes EV Charging with Massive Deployment of 16x DC Charge Points at Elmina Lakeside Mall

ChargEV has installed 16 DC charging points at Elmina Lakeside Mall using their eLoaded DC Grid System. In addition to their planned electric lorry charging hub in Tangkak Johor, ChargEV has set up a large EV charging hub at Elmina Lakeside Mall.

ChargEV has set up a total of 16 DC charge points at their new location, making it one of the biggest DC charging hubs in Malaysia. This location uses eLoaded's DC Grid technology for effective power management and deployment of large EV charging hubs, similar to Sortimo Innovations Park in Germany.

ChargEV has installed two groups of chargers with 8 DC charging points each in Parking Zone A and Parking Zone B. These chargers are currently operational for a trial period and can be accessed by users through the ChargEV app.

Currently, the DC charging stations cost RM1.60 per kilowatt-hour. Yesterday, we were able to charge our EV at a rate of 65 kilowatts while there were approximately 6 other electric vehicles also charging. The cost of charging during the trial period is considered expensive and we were able to charge our vehicle from 25% to 80% for around RM59.

It is anticipated that ChargEV will provide consumers with different pricing options based on how fast they need to charge their vehicle and how long they plan to stay at the charging station. This will accommodate various user needs, whether it's a short 15-minute charge while running errands or a longer hour charge while dining out.

One interesting feature of this DC charging site is that the eLoaded DC Grid system begins charging at a low rate of less than 5kW before you start the charger. This allows consumers to check if the charge point is functioning properly before they activate it to access full power.

As per the information from the ChargEV app, the trickle charge will begin charging after 5 minutes. If you do not initiate the charging process, the trickle charge will halt on its own, allowing you to disconnect the charger.

One standout characteristic of the eLiix DC charging stations is its slim, free-standing nozzles, which are currently the smallest high-powered DC charging stations available. These nozzles are separate, flexible satellite terminals that are linked to a power cabinet. Each terminal takes up approximately 10×10 cm of ground space and includes indicator lights on the top to show the charging status.

ChargEV is increasing the number of EV charging stations by implementing this solution, and a significant deployment was seen at Johor Premium Outlets in Johor.
